VIDEO- Grand Sequoia shingle issues for a workshop in Bozeman, MT

After finishing the house wrap, windows, and associated wall waterproofing materials , Part 5 of this new workshop construction series looks at pre finishing and installing siding, roofing the building with designer grade Grand Sequoia shingles, and getting a start on the brick wainscoting.

Pre finishing the siding

Before the siding was installed, it needed to be pre finished. This video takes you into the pre finishing shop of local Gallatin valley painting company DP Coatings. In this facility a roller flood coating machine is used to efficiently coat the siding with a high quality latex paint specially formulated for this process.

Once this material is ready it is delivered to the site, ready to be put up.

On three walls this siding sits above the yet to be installed brick wainscoting. In order to move forward with siding these areas a metal flashing that functions as an interface between siding and masonry is installed.

Roofing with Designer shingles

This video program shows how using these grand sequoia shingles requires a very experienced and highly skilled crew for a proper install. The distinctive diagonal pattern is an aesthetic highlight of this product.

The program demonstrates that maintaining the distinctive Grand Sequoia diagonal pattern requires a high degree of precision by the installer.
